John and All, Proper ESD safety practices dictate not having anything made of plastic within a foot of your ESD safe workstation where you are assembling or working inside your K3, or any other equipment that contains ESD sensitive devices! I just confirmed that this precaution is not addressed in the front of the K3 Assembly manual in the section entitled "Preventing Electrostatic Discharge Damage". 73, Gary KI4GGX K2 #4067 K3 #2724 P.S. Sorry to continue to beat a very dead horse, but I will as long as others continue to post similar suggestions which violate proper/accepted handling practices for ESD sensitive devices. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
