Yes, I find it extremely annoying as well, one of my last nagging issues with the radio. I think it has something to do with the radio being computer managed. Since all my previous rigs were analog, you could, for instance, change bandwidth settings for the receiver while transmitting. Cant do that here, which is too bad.
If there is something that can be done to change this situation, it would REALLY be a boon for contest operations. Any possibility of this quirk being eradicated in the near future? Other than that, I continue to be delighted by the receiver in this radio. Simply magical! The AF Limit feature is terrific for use on 160m! Loud static crashes become white noise, and you can still hear signals underneath the white noise! 73 Lu Romero - W4LT Team NQ4I's WPX SSB 2010 160m Op: K3 #3192 + NQ4I Antennas/Amp = 443 Q's in 22 hrs Message: 49 Date: Thu, 01 Apr 2010 10:07:48 +0000 From: HA3AUI <[email protected]> Subject: [Elecraft] disabled controls during TX To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed I wonder if anyone else has noticed, most of the front panel controls are disabled during TX? It's quite annoying during a contest for example, where you could use that little time to make an adjustment eg. change bandwidth, turn on/off preamp etc. before the rig returns to RX. I've never ever seen this behavior on any other rig that I own. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
