There have been, and will continue to be, ongoing improvements to the K3. This is normal in the life of any product. My s/n 00002 K3 has its original PA and it works just fine. Sometimes changes in the design are to increase the yield of functional modules in manufacturing, to adjust to market availability of certain components, and so forth. Changes that improve performance or reliability are made public and mod kits are generally made available. Or a module swap may be instituted, such as the DSP LPF in recent months, or the revision of the KXV3 to the KXV3A to support the K144XV internal 2m module You can always compare the schematics of early K3s with the latest K3s. We update the schematic package approximately annually. We published the original set of schematics in October 2007 on the website. We updated the package of schematics in October of 2008, and again in January of this year. We'll do it again late this year or early next. Don't worry.
