Good Evening (can't really say Good Night but that is true in this case),
Seven hours ago I laid down for a nap. Wow! I must have been tired. It
may have been the day filled with whumping sounds. I awoke at six this morning
to find the house and land covered with another seven inches of snow. It has
been snowing for most of the week. I receive four or five inches of snow and
then it goes away with the next rain. I think the surrounding forests are
getting enough moisture to grow well. My poor daffodils thought it was time to
start blooming. They were wrong. They are either buried in snow or frozen.
Sorry guys :(
Propagation has been good but yesterday it was odd. My sked into the
Southeast was hampered by a nonreciprocal band. I was receiving quite well, if
weakly, while he was not. Hopefully this will not be the case tomorrow. From
Space Weather I find the sunspots we have are not producing enough energetic
particles to enliven our ionosphere. Even though there are aurora it seems
they are due to seasonal change allowing easy entrance rather than from
energetic solar particle incursion. Maybe the QRP-ARCI contest will boost the
system enough to help ECN :) I know some of you will miss out due to family
gatherings for Easter but I shall be here in Oregon calling CQ ECN. It is a
lot more fun than slogging through the snow and gathering soggy wood to burn.
Maybe the snow will stop one day and it will go back to Oregon normal - rain,
fog, and happy trees.
Please join us tomorrow evening.
