I agree with Chen on all points. For information's sake, I can tell you 
I am running a K3/100 with a SignaLink-USB. Before that, I ran a K2 with 
a SignaLink-USB. This is a very hands-free configuration, and I have 
never had the slightest trouble with it. It is a lot less trouble than, 
say, a Flex box, with its need for a good IEEE1394 card/port. (I also 
ran one of these for about a year, and every once in a while it would 
require serious attention.)

The IMIC Chen mentions is quite a bit less expensive (~$30) but doesn't 
seem to allow as much control. If your demo is using a laptop and a 
utility like DigiPan, the IMIC could make a very portable and 
non-intimidating impression.
