You can use TX TEST (hold function of the MODE switch) to practice keying as well as to check the sidetone monitor level. This is a much cleaner way of doing it than using TX INH, which is intended only for multi-radio inhibit use. Another way to check the sidetone monitor level is by using PITCH. Will these workarounds do the trick?
