Thanks to Dale Framer at Elecraft customer support, my problem has been solved. Apparently, I had inadvertently (fat-fingered) changed the crystal filters (500 and 2.7K) off-sets. Dale took the time to talk me through the configuration menu options to correct the condition where I could not transmit using the USB mode.
I certainly appreciate Dale's and Elecrafts help. Another good reason to buy their fine transceiver - customer support! And, I'm not even the original owner!
