The Elecraft CW Nets are not going to be held today. The NCS is going to be
taking a much needed nap :) Now that Field Day is officially in the past I can
stop copying code in every squeak or rustle. During my catnaps I could not
stop logging. Then with five minutes to go my computer locked solid. Luckily
N1MM kept everything in fine shape for me while I fidgetted and rebooted. Some
glitch with the USB mouse locked it as I was calling a last few CQs on ten
meters. I don't know the final number but somewhere over 300 contacts with 90
sections over five bands. It was fun but not even close to what I was
attempting. However, I learned a lot and will do better next year. During the
last 40 minutes I had a doe right outside my window eating forbs. A
hummingbird came to the window a number of times to check on me. I am glad I
have friends who watch out for me. Now to go for a walk and listen to the
birds and trees. I will probably copy some calls from the fir trees ;)
