I've been using the SCAN feature on 10 meters trying to give out some field day points to the non air conditioned guys. If you just hold SCAN the audio turns off as the scanning begins. If you hold SCAN extra long the audio returns after a bit. Since the audio is on when I first hold the SCAN button wouldn't it make more sense for the audio to remain on when I hold SCAN and for the audio to fade out if I long-hold SCAN. Is this some sort of established standard for scan implementation.
