Clearly approval has more equal ranking problems then other methods,
but also has no order-reversal for first candidate. These problems
have to be traded against each other.

D- Approval has the mere problem of having equal rankings (especially near
the majority level) ----
True rankings
48 A
2 ABC
48 B
1 BC
99
A 50
B 51 wins
C 3
A has a first choice *true* majority but loses (due to the errors of the 2
ABC voters).
A similar result might happen if 2 or more were being elected (such as 3
judges with 10 candidates).
However, since the winners have the highest majorities it is a whole lot more
democratic than the total evil of simple plurality.
