In methods that allow giving a whole vote to more than 1 alternative, and which recognize majority, a majority means a vote total of more than half the number of voters. Examples: Bucklin, IRO-1. Actually, I'd prefer calling a vote total of at least half the number of voters a majority, and award the election to an alternative that has that (if no other alternative does). Mike --
