Second, etc. choices are generally not valued equally with first choices.
Thus, one way to deal with such situation is to relatively weigh the votes
for tiebreaker purposes.
Example-
Single executive or judicial office
Vote Weighted Vote
B 80 33.33
E 100 41.67
F 60 25.00
Total 240 100.00
A computer voting system would probably have to be used.
Each choice would have to get a YES majority. If there was no head to head
winner using number rank votes (1, 2, etc.), then the Weighted Votes would be
totalled as a tiebreaker.
Quare - Have negative weighted votes also for really disliked choices ? Or
- Deem above 50 on a 0 to 100 scale to be positive and below 50 to be
negative (since many folks might have problems with negative votes such as
-80) ?
