As I said, ranking is lots easier than rating, as you know if you’ve actually done both in EM polls.

That’s why Borda is useful for personal decision making.

And maybe, in that Utopian society that Lomax and Smith want to believe in, the difficulty of rating might make Borda a better idea than RV.

But of course Borda is more approximate in the ratings that it gives, and the CW is the SU maximizer under some commonly accepted plausible conditions (including those of all or nearly all spatial simulations).

So which would be better by SU in that Utopian society?: SSD or Borda?

What would a simulation say about that? A simulation in which everyone ranks sincerely, and the ballots are counted by Borda and by SSD (or, for easiest implementation , BeatpathWinner)?
