The general tradition when sending email to a list is not to include a single URL as the body -- otherwise, it tends to look like spam, a crank's post, or something else that should be ignored. When subscribers to an email list want to read a blog or subscribe to an RSS feed, they do that. On an email list, it is reasonable and common to assume that information is sent in-line rather than out-of-line. On an email list, out-of-line argument increases the cost for others to read or reply to the details of one's position. This is appropriate behavior when one dispenses wisdom from on high, but is less useful when one wishes to engage in dialogue.
