I guess the main driver has been that winning votes is more tolerant than margins against strategic burying in some scenarios. (There are however also corresponding strategy related claims/scenarios in the other direction too.)
(The benefits of winning votes in the strategic scenarios might not outweigh the losses with sincere votes and losses in some other strategic scenarios, especially if strategic voting is marginal in all Condorcet methods when applied in typical political elections.)
