I thought I replied earlier...wanted to thank those that replied to
help.
Looks like I may have hit the wrong SEND button and hour or so ago..

Short version is I got Electric v9.00 working by NOT following the
instructions in the Java3D installation guide: I eliminated the
variable CLASSPATH and did not put a PATH pointer to Java.
Once I deleted the paths to the 3 Java files, everything worked
fine...on the 32-bit version.

Then I ran into Electric memory issues: locked up into a cycle of
runtime exception errors - had to physically turn off machine. Task
Manager was over-ridden and I couldn't kill the process - different
issue.

Went to confirm Steve's advice and make sure I had compatible 64-bit
Java and Java3D.
Did that but I need to have a parallel version of Java 32-bit on this
machine. That seems to cause the problem - Electric doesn't work.
I'll go back to removing the 64-bit versions of Java and replace them
with the 32-bit versions of Java.
(This is a contracter-owned machine: I'd like to put dual boot Linux
on here but it's "not allowed".
Does anyone know if I can run 64-bit Linux Java and 32-bit Windows
Java independently of each other?
I'd run Electric under Linux if that would ease the memory issues
I'm a shade-tree mechanic when it comes to software configurations -
certainly not a pro)

Thanks for the replies - following the Install directions seemed to
have messed me up.
Maybe this will help someone else having this problem
