I need advice on wiring. I followed instructions carefully to rig a tri
phase set of wires for my ET-312B. After finishing I realized I had made one
huge mistake. I used stereo 1/8" plugs (the part that plugs into the box)
instead of mono 1/8" plugs. I know you can not substitute mono plugs for
stereo when you need to run 2 wires plus the ground wire. But how about
substituting those 2 stereo 1/8" plugs for mono plugs? I know the length of
the end of the plug is a factor. The length of the ends of my stereo plugs
is the same as the length of the end of the mono plugs supplied with the
ET-312 box.
Because the length of the end of the plugs are the same, the part of the
jack inside of the box that makes contact with the end of the plug should
not overlay the next part of the plug beyond the non conductive isolator
strip. It is the 2nd part that I am worried about. It may not make good
contact or overlay the 2nd and 3rd conductive portions of the stereo plug
that is inserted into it.
I could use some advice from anyone who is experienced in rigging wiring and
connnectors. I do not want to chance damaging my ET-312 box by plugging
stereo plugs into jacks that are for mono plugs.
