Regarding Neosporin: Please be aware of the following: Neosporin is a brand name triple antibiotic ointment. It contains three active antimicrobial agents, neomycin, polymixin and bacitracin. Some people are allergic to neomycin and will have a reaction. Polysporin is a brand name double antibiotic ointment that contains polymixin and bacitracin. A tube of ointment is only sterile the first time you open it. They do make small packets of neosporin ointment for use in doctor's offices and hospitals so you might be able to get your local drug store to special order some if you are going to be using it to lubricate urethral inserts.
