IMO we should create separate "testing" branches for all apps shipping in Luna and recipes that build them into testing PPA and merge changes from trunk to testing once in a while, when we're sure they are not going to kill kittens. Similarly, along with final release we should create "stable" branches that build to stable PPA and stage all changes in "testing" branches/PPAs before merging there.
