Hi Everybody. Maybe I've an idea: What if there would be a element in the shortcut-menu (which is accessable in case of a video is playing), which is called something like 'pip this' or 'pip it'. When you do this, the currently running video (or in this case tv) is smashed to the small window (we alle know). Now we could select our other movie, tv-channel, audio-file to play them. There is always the pip in one of the corners. Now the special thing comes: How could we come back to the PIPed-Media? Elisa automatically switches back, if the current playback is ended (means the end of a playlist is reached or the user presses stop). And the Remote? There is no stop on the remote (yet)? With the apple remote you are already using the 'on long push'- actions (like for fast forward/backward instead of next/previos), so we could use this idea for stopping also: the play button. On one push you toggle between play/pause (the pip stays) on a long push, you could stop the playback (and if there is any media PIPed, elisa'll switch back to it). For background (because all this is gui/ergonomy yet): We could use the gstreamer Mixer-plugin. With the new architecture an on-the-fly-modifiyng of gstreamer-pipes would be more easier (I hope!), so there is no good reason to NOT use it. What do you think? kind regards Benjamin Kampmann
