Hi Elisa Users,
The Elisa team is happy to announce a 3rd alpha release of its Windows
flavour, thus taking another step towards its goal of being truly
cross-platform.
Thereby following up our promise from last week that updated versions
should from now on follow more frequently, until we have reached a
production release in the next few weeks.
We are especially happy to announce that this is the first preview
release build with the new 0.5 architecture, and you can now add
directories where you store your media to more successfully access all
your media content.
It can be downloaded as usual from the website's download page [1].

Fixed issues from the previous release:
* Add directory has been added to enable full access to your media, no
matter where it is stored.
* Fast-scrolling bar for browsing large collections of media has been
added to the GUI.
* A good amount of playback related crashes are fixed
* Missing codecs are now reported to the user
* Folder-issue should now have been solved, and language encodings
should not prevent them from being browsable.
* Browse Shortcuts issue solved
* Closing deadlock in Pigment solved.
Known issues of this release:
* Codecs for DirectShow (ffdshow) have to be installed manually in
order to play all media files
* Sometimes on XP the installer does not ask to remove the previous
version installed before installing the new version, which will cause
error on startup. Just run the installer again and it should work.
* Translations has been lost, and currently Elisa only works in English
* Sometimes coloured lines appear in the user interface
* Audio CDs still not playable from the GUI
* YouTube plugin is still deactivated due to user interface locks
* Out of process thumbnailing is now broken.
Please feel free to try it out and help us solve bugs and improve the
application.
Best regards,
Gunnar Holmberg (Operation Manager) & the Elisa Team
