Hey, I've been running Elisa off and on for a couple months now watching its
progress, and first I'd just like to say I love where it's going. I'd been
looking for a good media center option that had a nicer interface than some
of the other linux options, and this is it. I can't wait to see how it
progresses!

I'm a recently graduated computer science student (a masters student now),
and I'd like to help out some if I can. I don't have time to code really due
to my studies. I have some issues or questions I'd like to at least mention,
if theres some way to get more info for you guys you'll have to tell me how.
I run an Ubuntu desktop and some LAMP servers, but I'm definitely not a pro
linux user (getting there though). One issue I have had is when playing
video, it occasionally just wont. After hitting play, it loads up the first
frame, and it might show the next frame 10 seconds later, but it seems to be
playing.... slowly. This doesn't always happen, and I can't reproduce it at
will (the worst kind of bug, I know!). Is there some way I could get more
information on this to you? Also, my music collection is extremely large
(60+ gigs), and every time I start Elisa is rescans my collection. I can
still play music while this is happening, but it takes awhile to finish
scanning, and I'm not sure if it may be related to my other problem. I'm nto
even sure what exactly it's scanning for since my music all works. New
files? Finally, the only thing that is missing for me is the ability to
watch television if my graphics card has a tuner. It seems like it would be
a popular request. Is there any plan to add this? Would it be possible to
make a plugin that connects to a MythTV back end?

Again, if theres a way I can contribute that requires little time
comittment, let me know. I definitely can code, but I don't really have time
with my studies. I've not contributed to an open source project yet
actually, and this is the first one that really seemed like something I
might like.

Curt
