I'm still learning ELM, so I'm sure there are plenty of history and reasoning here I'm not aware of. But speaking simply from my current viewpoint:
I'd like to use ELM with an Elixir backend, and wish for the same pipeline order as Elixir. That would certainly make my head hurt less.
