I've myself encountered the issue : updated my 4+ years old iMac to
CentOS 6.4 and no X anymore.
I had to revert back to previous xorg/mesa packages :
- boot in single mode (or init 3)
- rpm -qa --queryformat '%{name}.%{arch}\n'|grep xorg >/root/xorg.list
- rpm -qa --queryformat '%{name}.%{arch}\n'|grep mesa >>/root/xorg.list
- rpm -e $(cat /root/xorg.list) --nodeps
- yum install --disablerepo=cr $(cat /root/xorg.list)
- echo 'exclude=xorg* mesa*' >> /etc/yum.conf
- init 5 (and back to X with fglrx)
Just my two cent(o)s .. :-)
