Yes, the shadow is still there when I'm zooming in the the magnification effect meant for handicapped people... I succeeded in making a screen-shot. This was done while the magnification effect was on. An example off the "shadow text" is just under the mouse pointer... I took the sceen-shot while font smoothing was turned off in Emacs.app and with the changes I made in System Preferences (see below). For this screen-shot the window is transparent, with a light background.
