Thanks very much for the response. Yes, from the Mac OS X terminal I
get LC_ALL=el_GR.UTF-8.

I have a (latex) file with non latin characters, and at first,
whenever I opened it with Emacs.app, the non-latin characters appeared
garbled. So I went to Options > Mule > Set Language Environment >
UTF-8. You mention about LC_CTYPE; LC_CTYPE (as LC_ALL) is defined in
my .profile file (both to el_GR.UTF-8). Still, before making the
aforementioned setting in Mule menu, the non-latin characters appeared
garbled.

Trying to reproduce the garbling of the characters in my file,
reverting the setting Mule > Set Language Environment > Default, I
can't seem to reproduce it; all the characters appear correctly. I
don't know what to assume… Nevertheless, I changed once again the
file path, so as one of the directories in it be with greek letters, I
open again the file, and upon trying to save it, Emacs.app crashes and
disappears. Then I change the path to all latin letters, and no crash
occurs when I 'm saving the file.
As I mentioned in my previous message, this isn't a very big problem
for me, as long as I 've found some way to avoid this crash. I
reported it in case it is something really worth fixing.

Thanks very much
