Hello! You probably know that YAMAMOTO Mitsuharu writes another native Mac Emacs. To build this variant you'd need to check out recent GNU Emacs from CVS and rename its "emacs" root directory to "emacs-23.1.91- mac-1.96" – depending on the patch level you want to apply on the base code. Then get from /ftp:anonym...@ftp.math.s.chiba-u.ac.jp:/emacs (via TRAMP) the archive with additional source and text files. The root directory of these files corresponds with the archive's name and is the same to which the "emacs" root directory should be renamed. Inside the archive is also a "patch-mac" file with patches for the original CVS distribution. A recent update was using WebKit to display SVG files. This might be an option for the NS port, too...
For me this kind of Emacs compiles, installs, and launches – but it needs C-x and ESC typed twice to recognise this input once... -- Greetings Pete I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me. – Hunter S.
