Fair enough!  It would look a strange to see that description
formatted as a title in the Org buffer, even if it’s not exported that
way in your case.

Hmm, it does for me.  Maybe try:

  #+LATEX_COMPILER: lualatex

or use @@latex:~@@ instead of the space character?

For sure, I agree it should be documented somewhere.  I’m just not
sure if the manual should encourage it, unless it’s made official by
reserving one of the keywords e.g. @@-:…@@.
