Francesco suggested WIBNI remote shells executed via M-x rlogin or M-x telnet or M-x ssh or something would do remote directory tracking, so that doing C-x C-f in the shell buffer automatically uses rcp.el to load the file? I'm afraid I almost never use any of the alternatives to start a remote shell from within Emacs, so I thought I'd just run this by you guys and see if someone is interested in doing this :-) kai -- Life is hard and then you die.
