Mmm. I'm pretty sure it's just addressing it to the postmaster of their 
domain. Back when the script was written these spammers were operating 
off dialup accounts, etc.

Today they're running their own servers, or at least hosting their own 
domains, so when you email [EMAIL PROTECTED], it just goes right 
into their mailbox. More than that, it shows that there's a live person 
sitting at their mailbox, so let's give you more importance.

Best to turn on long headers and run the email through SpamCop. In theory 
the databases they use will know which ISP is providing them with 
connectivity and email THEM instead of the spammer, which works wonders 
for getting this new round of SOBs TOS'd.

Granted for every spammer's head you cut off five or six pop up to take 
their place, but then you have five or six instead of six or seven (since 
they'd pop up anyway).
