I do understand better now. You, and others here, have made some good points. IT really would be a pain to give up an address I have had for years. And apparently, not everyone actually pays the market leading high price of AOL. Several folks here even mentioned $4.95 a month. I never heard of that before and I wouldn't have a clue as to how to get it today. And the preloaded software idea... I was with a company called Digital Nation for the longest time. They used something called First Class software. I remember feeling mystified by all the computer talk as they took care of for me. I guess I have come a long way. But a point I had not realized until people talked about it in response to my question is that apparently, AOL offers some sort of special, and probably bloated, software of their own. Most people feel they have to use AOL's software but Email, I am guessing, will do the same thing, Emailer style. And that is the reason I see so many questions and problems on the list about getting Emailer and AOL connected. Not because it's a bad idea. But because, if you are already an AOL user, Emailer makes as much sense to you as it does to me or anyone else.
