I have a script called Zoom and Strip but it doesn't quite do the job. 
Here is the author's commentary:

Anna's suggestion, filtering then simply dumping the files from the 
Downloads folder, overlooks the possibility of trashing attachments that 
you want to keep. Of course they should already have been moved to a safe 
location, but you never be sure! that means going through them -- a 
timewaster.
