Then if nobody finds the real culprit/solution in the meantime, I'll try this other
workaround when I get a chance (not soon); sounds stupid but would at least confirm if
your supposition is right:
- create a script that
checks accounts
sends a dummy message to each account
checks again (hoping the mail servers got it fast enough)
deletes any existing dummy messages (the last might not appear until next time)
- install OSA Menu 1.2.3d7 into OS9's Extensions if it's not already there (the last
official version 1.2.2 has some display problems, I forgot where I got 1.2.3d7, maybe
BareBones' site)
- put the script in OSA Menu's "Claris Emailer Scripts" folder (or whatever you chose
to name it) and give it a keyboard shortcut to use instead of Emailer's -K
PS: I use both Emailer's Scripts menu and OSA Menu, because the latter allows many
niceties, including very easy assignment of keyboard shortcuts to the scripts, is
sytem-wide, and doesn't require relaunching Emailer to add new scripts, etc.
(I miss OSA Menu in OS X, anybody knowing of an alternative to X's inferior scripts
menu? Or maybe there are tricks I don't know to assign kb shortcuts?)
