I know. What I mean is that unless I'm wrong assuming it can't assign
keyboard shortcuts, Apple's script menu for OS X is vastly inferior to
OSA Menu for Classic.

OSA Menu features :

- free

- universal and application scripts stored in a simple customizable
folder structure (universal items available anywhere, app specific items
available in one particular app based on it's name or creator code)

- easy assignment of keyboard shortcuts using the scripts names, ex:
script name\E       -> Command-E
script name\E+C     -> Command-Control-E
script name\E+OC    -> Command-Option-Control-E

- ability to pass the Finder's selection to droplets as if you'd dragged
them (this means you can put droplet scripts in the menu, not only applet
scripts)

- much faster execution of many scripts when run by OSA Menu than when
letting AppleScript and the applications manage their AppleEvents
scheduling

- provides a workaround to bugs in the Finder's drag&drop (droplet
scripts run from OSA Menu instead of by dropping items in the Finder are
much faster AND always get the whole selection, whereas when the Finder
simultaneously drags an item and it's parent folder, which can happen
from list views, only the parent folder is passed to the droplet)

- can start/stop recording, open the script editor, open the folders, and
even open the scripts in the editor instead of running them
