I occasionally send an e-mail message to approximately 130 recipients and, because I want to hide the entire list from the recipients, I put my own address in the TO field, and put the others as BCC recipients.
Because my ISP doesn't allow more than 50 recipients for any one message, Emailer automatically resends the message as many times as necessary to get them all sent, in this case 3 times. Usually, this method works well. However, one recipient has an address in the copper.net domain, and my e-mails to her always bounce. It seems that copper.net has a "missing header filter" that rejects incoming messages that have nothing in either the TO or FROM fields. Checking the returned headers in the bounce message, the FROM field is certainly there, but I don't see any TO field. My guess is that when Emailer automatically sends the second and third batches of BCC messages (and maybe even the first batch), it omits the TO field (with my own address in it) from the headers of the BCC recipients. Thus, the "missing header filter" failure at copper.net. Does anyone know a way around this problem? Is there a way to make Emailer include a TO address in the headers of messages to BCC recipients?
