Here are some directions (and places to find them) to repair BOTH versions of emailer (v1 & v2) for those using 1.1v4 (lite) I do not know if these repairs will fix that version (BUT read below for a method - read replacement - to solve this too) First - for those who do not know of existance of an Emailer help email list server.... here is the address for joining: To subscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "subscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [individual emails] or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [digest] Second - go to the following web site(s) , one is for v2.x the other for v1.x. FOLLOW the instructions. In summary - you need to change 1 (or 2) occurance(s) of a hex string (= ascii(i)). The following sites include a link to a free/shareware application "HexEdit" which you can use to do the needed change. BE SURE TO WORK ON A COPY AND TEST THE FIX BEFORE replacing your in use copy. Instructions for patching the app using HexEdit are located: Version 2.x of Emailer PPC/FAT: <http://www.InformINIT.com/Emailer2PPCFATY2K.html> 68k: <http://www.InformINIT.com/Emailer268kY2K.html> Version 1.x of Emailer http://www.InformINIT.com/Emailer1PPCFATY2K.html ��������������� [ NOTE WELL] - the second replacement Hex code replacement, for v1.1v3, DID NOT work for me - testing gave me a sent date (upon retrieval) of 1/9/80. I thought about this a bit and realized that what is changing is the offset used to calculate the current date. The value 'BC'[hex] gave a year of 80, so I figured if I added 20[dec] (which I am sure you know is 14[hex]) to the 'BC' that was being inserted it might give the correct year. 'BC' + 14 = D0 (D zero) So... I tried Replacing the 3rd occurance of '3803076C' (BC) with D0 (just as in the previous replacement) this seems to work correctly. In summary - in both locations suggested by the above web page replace 'BC' [hex] with 'D0' [hex]. 'D0' [hex] = option+'-' �������������� Third - In case you need, and since you all already own 1.1v3 and do not remember what install you used (Fat/PPC/68K), here is a link to a software copy of the installer...... <http://www.macemail.com/emailer/Scripts/ClarisEmailerv1.1.3.sit> Notes: (what I did) I re-installed CE 1.1v3 using the installer mentioned above (I tried both FAT and PPC installs bth operate the same). I did this to a seperate directory, and then patched (as noted above) the new install. Copied the, support files, and Claris EMail Files ( minus filing cabinet) to the newly installed and patched Emailer directory. Sent myself an email. Checked the date. everything was fine. Copied the patched (working) application to my normal Emailer directory. Tossed the new install.
