You may recall my plea for help when I found that checking mail caused CE to shut down and/or freeze my computer and cause other strange things like making my desktop disappear. After finding that CE would work when I was booted from the OS 9 extension set, yesterday I ordered Conflict Catcher 9 on CD.
But I've quickly tired of rebooting with full extensions if I wanted to do something like print, then back to the OS 9 set to use emailer, so today I downloaded the free demo of Conflict Catcher, which works for 7 days, to try to get a headstart on my problem while I waited for the CD to arrive. After I installed the demo, I tried emailer so that it would fail and I could use CC to try to isolate the problem, but emailer works perfectly now. Do you suppose that simply installing Conflict Catcher frightened the offending extension so that it shaped up? This is indeed a powerful program.
