I was intrigued that the little >rectangles at the beginning of each line that I forwarded had disappeared >on its return trip to me. So it can't be AOL that's doing it - Or is it? ------------ Way back when Emailer 2 was being developed and the beta was sent out for testing, there were a lot of odd problems with AOL mail. One of the things you might notice, if you are using Emailer 2 to retrieve mail from AOL, is that the subject is indented one space. This is due to a "work-around" needed to eliminate the line-feed character that had appeared in front of the subject line. Caused all kinds of havoc with sort routines in Emailer. Still causes Emailer to insert a long string of "Re:" in "Replied" messages.
The line feed character still is stuck at the beginning of each line when these criteria apply (at least as far as I have been able to track): * The message originates outside of AOL * The message contains a "high-ASCII" character * The message is retrieved from AOL using Emailer If the "high-ASCII" characters are removed by someone in the process of either replying or quoting the message, then you won't see the "box" until the criteria apply again. Ken Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
