My short experience (note: still stuck in System 7.5) is I'm forced to send docs back in Word, particularly in the case of accents (Spanish), though I have no way of opening them properly. I discard all formatting, images, etc. on the files I receive, but my work allows me to indulge in such crude heartless trashing. There have been recent changes to RTF by MS, confirmed on this list, and other issues that force Word on those of us exchanging text (word processing) files. Haven't a clue about Word Perfect. Others on the list have more experience than I, and those who work professionally sending and receiving these docs can't seem to avoid MS Word.
