Emailer has been working fine for my wife to send text files for her
work. Until today.
She converts a Word .doc file to a .txt file using TexEdit Plus and an
Applescript I wrote/recorded to get the formatting, line length, etc.
fixed the way her employer wants the file. They open the attachment in
Windows using NotePad (using Outlook to receive our email) and then
import it into another program (it's medical transcription).
I've had her sending the file without compression using Appledouble for
encoding. It's been working fine.
Today the attachments won't go through, but the text of the email does
with the following at the top of the email:
--Emailer_-1166812974
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable
This is the error message we're getting in the log:
** Couldnt complete the last command because a network stream
error occurred.
The email is still listed in the Out Box as if it didn't get sent.
Just prior to this, my wife's supervisor told me tonight that the
attachments started coming with the .hqx suffix on the end of the .txt
file names (thus filename.txt.hqx). Any ideas? Does .hqx mean BinHex? Why
would that be happening?
Can you offer some insight as to what is going on? I will hopefully have
this 'fixed' by Thurs. night when she needs to work again.
I was wondering if something wacky happened to our ISP's SMTP mail
server? We can receive email fine.
The settings on the account I'm using are:

For what it's worth, here is the long header from an incoming email (sent
to the myrealbox account which forwards to my ISP email account):
