This isn't a CE issue. This is a Classic/OS X issue. CE isn't getting 
tired of waiting, but rather OS X isn't properly passing back to Classic 
the fact that the connection has come up. You will find the same thing 
happens with a web browser or any other internet application running in 
Classic.

FYI: the default timeout period for CE is (IIRC) 120 seconds, so your 30 
second lag wouldn't be enough for Emailer to give up anyway.
