Then the people you spoke to are ignorant of the history of MS products. All 1's or all 0's used to work for MS Office on windows as well. They fixed that because too many people knew that and it made it too easy to pirate. They seem to have never gotten around to fixing it on the Mac side of things as all 1's still works (but I don't believe all 0's works on the Mac anymore, if ever).
