You have the .DS_Store problem.

Easiest way to cure it:

Make sure the Temp Incoming folder is empty (quit and restart Emailer
until it is fully empty).
Quit Emailer
Throw out the Temp Incoming folder
Close all open folder windows related to Emailer's files
Start Emailer

The problem should now be gone.

OS X creates an invisible .DS_Store file in any folder that it needs to
know folder info. So if you interact with the Temp Incoming folder, or
copy it to and from drives under OS X, a .DS_Store file is created in the
folder. Emailer chokes when it hits that file, and gets stuck unpacking
new email. You need to delete the file in order to restore proper
functionality. And the easiest way to do that is to do what I listed
above which results in the entire Temp Incoming folder being deleted. Its
safe to delete the entire folder as Emailer will simply create a new
fresh clean copy of it when it is relaunched.
