It also won't boot on FW800 or later PowerMacs, however, if you look real 
carefully at the Apple Store you can still find  PowerMac G4 MDD machines 
that boot into both OS9 and OS10.

There are a few OS9 apps that won't run properly under Classic and 
hardware devices lacking OS10 drivers will not function under Classic.

Because you're not loading "Classic" the emulator, you're loading OS 9 
the Operating System. "Classic" is an OS 10 application that allows OS9 
to run under OS 10 in an emulation mode.
