Thanks for the suggestion. I am sure it works. However I have a broadband 
connection that is always online and checks for email every two minutes 
and notifies me when mail arrives. Manually intervening with Outlook 
Express is not a viable option. In addition I would thing that if one 
were going to use Outlook to check the server they might as well switch 
to Outlook as their email client. I am reminded of Einstein's comment 
when a reporter asked him what shaving soap he used. "What, two soaps?" 
he replied :-)
