I have recently changed over from a dialup connection to cable broadband
using Astound.
I haven't been able to configure my Emailer account to allow me to
send/receive.
Realizing this has been gone over in the past, at least for ATTBI, I
tried to conform to the suggestions given in earlier posts. Without
success.
Would some kind soul send me the entries for my Emailer Astound account?
The information I have to guide entries is: Incoming server:
"mail.ca.astound.net"
Outgoing server:
"smtp.ca.astound.net"
The Internet Account Entry screen for Emailer has
Account name (which can be anything; I just use my first name)
User name (is it necessary to use a prespecified name which
would be recognized by
the server? I never thought it made a difference,
maybe I'm wrong.)
Email account (I have entered the name I've previously used for my
dialup, substituting
for "macconnect.com", with "mail.ca.astound.net" -
my entry now reads:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] )
Email password (is this required for authentication on the server?
The only time I've
used this was on the initial pass when setting up
with MacConnect.
There's no authentication required to access the
email which comes up on
my monitor screen.)
SMTP server (I have entered: "smtp.ca.astound.net" )
Email address: (that address formerly used, again substituting
Astound for Macconnect.
my entry now reads: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Any assistance appreciated.
I still have my MacConnect dialup to receive emails, until I can get this
cable modem access with Astound squared away.
