Following is a reply that I'm forwarding for one of our list members that
is currently being blocked from Eskimo.com. His real message is at the
bottom (regarding backing up a mail database), but I'm including his
message to me as well hoping maybe someone on the list uses EIMS and has
dealt with its open relay problems before and may be able to give him
info he can forward to his ISPs server admin.

Hey, Chris! Would you post this for me. It looks like my problem
has returned. It was cleared up for a few days. I don't know what's
going on. My ISP is tearing his hair out! I looked at the "ordb.org"
which they mention, but I don't have any idea what is has to do with
me.

In addition to Chris' comments, I suggest using "Emailer
Archive" to keep the database down (http://www.fogcity.com/).

Further, when desperate, Tex-Edit Plus will act as a
"canopener" for the database. (Set it to open ALL documents.)

There is a bunch of garbage in there, but your mail is there,
too. It is like picking thru the rubble after an earthquake
to get it out, but you can do so by just finding what you
need and copying it out.

I did it once and I'm more careful now (rebuilding more
frequently and using the "Archive"), so that I don't have to do
it again.

Best regards & Happy Holidays,

Bill
