My wife and I and our two young daughters aged 9, 11 bicycled to Mexico and back in 1973, a 2400 mil jaunt. The bikes in those days were really heavy (Schwinn) and we hauled trailers behind the bikes. It took us six months because we stayed here and there visiting friends, resting, or just enjoying things. It was wonderful, dangerous and exciting, but wonderful. I now ride daily in the summer, but only about 5-10 miles because I also play tennis thrice weekly and usually on fine days will hit about 100 golf balls and walk out to pick them up, all of which is pretty good for a 74 year old who had a six vessel by-pass six years ago. Although retired and broke I do four rehab. classes at the local County Jail weekly along with conducting classes or doing teacher training for folks around the world. That is why I need a computer and good old Emailer.
So I hope you folks enjoy yourselves and I wish I was young enough to do the same thing. warmest, regards, doug Kokomo, Indiana >Mick Rose wrote: > >>Bill, >>this response is only marginally on topic, but ... go cycling in >>Provence!
