This message was posted on the 12 April issue of Macintouch <www.macintouch.com> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Mike Stockman notes a major change in AOL's mail system: Just wanted to let you know that AOL has finally rolled out open e-mail access, so AOL users can abandon their AOL client software (or, as in my case, Claris Emailer under Classic mode) and start using any IMAP client to read and send mail from their AOL accounts. I've already set up my screen names in Apple Mail in 10.3.3 and it's working well. In fact, I'm sending this from Mozilla Thunderbird right now as a test. There's more information at an AOL member's site [Accessing the AOL Mail System Using IMAP & Authenticated SMTP]
