(Apologies if this is a repeat of another reply. I'm on digest). It has nothing to do with emailer. Assuming you are using OS9 you simply go Apple menu --> Control panels --> File Exchange Click the PC Exchange tab (default) an make sure both checkboxes are ticked. Scroll down till you see the PC Extension "txt" in the left column and click on it to select. Now click on "Change" and select tex-edit. The rest is obvious.
